Five Herbs. One Ancient Practice.
Every ingredient in your pad has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries. Here is what each one does - and why it belongs in your daily ritual.
Snow Lotus
Saussurea laniceps · Xue Lian HuaHarvested above 4,000 metres in the Himalayas, Snow Lotus is one of the most prized cold-dispersing herbs in Chinese medicine. It warms the uterine meridian, promotes blood circulation, and eases the deep pelvic coldness that underlies most menstrual discomfort. The warmth you feel within the first hour of wearing the pad is largely Snow Lotus at work.
Angelica Root
Angelica dahurica · Bai ZhiBai Zhi has been prescribed in Chinese medicine for over two thousand years for its ability to expel wind, relieve pain, and reduce swelling. In the context of feminine wellness it works synergistically with Snow Lotus - calming the discomfort that coldness creates once circulation has been invited back. The result is the settled, unhurried feeling that comes after day two or three of consistent wear.
Clove
Syzygium aromaticum · Ding XiangClove is one of the most well-studied antimicrobial botanicals in both Eastern and Western traditions. Ding Xiang warms the channels and disperses cold while eugenol - its primary compound - inhibits the anaerobic bacteria responsible for odor and imbalance. It is the reason the pad works on freshness as well as comfort; the two are not separate problems in TCM thinking.
Rhododendron
Rhododendron dauricum · Man Shan HongMan Shan Hong is used in TCM to clear heat, resolve phlegm, and ease inflammatory discomfort. In topical application it brings down the localized inflammation that contributes to the persistent ache of the first cycle days - without the systemic effects of an oral anti-inflammatory. Gentle, targeted, and appropriate for daily use.
Dictamnus
Dictamnus dasycarpus · Bai Xian PiBai Xian Pi clears heat and damp - the TCM root diagnosis behind chronic imbalance and recurring discomfort. It is antipruritic, astringent, and deeply cleansing in action. Where the other four herbs address warmth, circulation, and microbial balance, Dictamnus addresses the environment itself: the internal conditions that allow imbalance to persist. It is the herb that makes the ritual cumulative rather than symptomatic.
